Clearly telling users what the action is means using explicit, unambiguous language and design to communicate what you want them to do. Don't make users guess.

Instead of: An unlabeled icon
Do: An icon + text label ("Edit Profile")

The action should be obvious from both the copy and the visual design — no ambiguity, no assumptions about user knowledge.
