Persuasive Technology

Human Decision Making

Persuasive Technology is any interactive system designed to change attitudes or behaviors. Coined by BJ Fogg, it encompasses how computers, mobile apps, and websites can influence what people think and do.

Key idea: Technology is never neutral. Every design choice — from notification timing to button color — influences behavior, intentionally or not.

Designers should be mindful of persuasive elements and use them ethically.
