BJ Fogg's Behavior Model

Human Decision Making

BJ Fogg's Behavior Model states that behavior happens when three elements converge at the same moment: Motivation, Ability, and a Prompt (B = MAP).

If any element is missing, the behavior won't occur. High motivation can compensate for low ability, and vice versa. The prompt is the trigger that initiates action.

Key takeaway: To change behavior, you can increase motivation, make the action easier, or ensure a well-timed prompt.
